Why Brooklyn?
Your Biggest Fan?, my sweet sports romance, is set in my new favorite city, Brooklyn, New York.
Last summer I spent two weeks in New York City. I’m no stranger to New York. I visited for the first time when I was twelve years old. My father took my mom, brother and me on a business trip and we feel in love. My brother more than the rest of us. He moved after college and never left.
Since then, besides the five and 1/2 years, I spent in China, I’ve been to NYC at least once a year every year. In all of those visits, I never once step foot in Brooklyn.
I was missing out.
Only a ten-minute train ride away, but Brooklyn feels like another world.
The tree lined streets with the eclectic combination of homes, bars, restaurants and shops give a unique backdrop for the diverse mix of people. Not diverse in the sense of different ethnicities. It has that, like every part of New York, but diverse in a broader sense.
I spent one afternoon sitting in the coolest coffee shop and overheard the most interesting conversations.
I’m a writer and eavesdrop on people’s conversations, get over it or don’t sit next to me.
Two guys sitting at a small round table, one black and one white, one in a tailored business suit and the other in baggy jeans and a hoodie (in the summer time). They aggressively discussed the economy of several Caribbean Islands.
Two girls sitting on a couch were dressed in workout gear, sipping coffee and giggling. They were swapping stories about their latest breakups, both with huge rocks on their ring fingers.
I spotted a guy in the corner wearing rolled up jeans, a vintage concert T-shirt, suspenders, a beard, a beanie (again, in the summer time), and horned rimmed glasses. He was your typical hipster, typing away on his Macbook Pro computer. I took a lap around him and found him watching an episode of Project Runway and taking notes to the side.
As I sat there for an entire afternoon and one story idea after another popped into my head.
I imagined a couple falling in love in the corner table but both of them holding on to a
life-altering secret.
The sexy, muscular, tattooed covered guy who ordered an expresso was my new hero. Tired of his meaningless life, he was looking for someone to love.
As I walked back to my hotel, I found a corner that would be the perfect setting for a romantic first kiss. I strolled the Brooklyn Bridge from the Brooklyn side and stopped halfway across and wrote this line for Your Biggest Fan?
Nothing was more romantic than Brooklyn in the wintertime.
I fantasized many times about taking long walks hand in hand with Noah. Sipping hot chocolate as we strolled across the bridge. Standing at the railings, with his arms wrapped around my waist as we stared at the New York skyline. I would turn my head and lay a soft kiss on his cheek or rub my lips across the stubble on his strong jaw. He would reach inside my jacket and squeeze me closer to him as he captured my lips with his and gave me a long, lingering kiss and—
If you are curious to find out what happens when Noah, Callie, and a cute blond chihuahua, get stuck in a Brooklyn Brownstone during a snow storm, along with thirteen other sweet romances, pick up a copy of Valentines Pets & Kisses.
Noah Patrick, NFL bad boy, has sworn off women, they only seem to want him for his fame and his money. Callie James is such a big Noah Patrick fan, she named her energetic Chihuahua after the man of her dreams. When they find themselves hiding out in the same Brooklyn Brownstone, a crazy blizzard, a never-ending supply of spaghetti, and a dog with identity issues bring them together even though they both have secrets that would tear them apart.

My name is Jeanne Bannon. I’ve worked in the publishing industry as an editor for over twenty-five years and was first published as a teenager way back when. Time passed, I got married, had a family, and put writing on the back burner. Then, my muse came calling, well, screaming may be a better word and I picked up my trusty laptop (no more pen and paper) and began work on Invisible, my first full length novel, which was published in 2011.
My latest work, Lost and Found, is a sweet romance (not my usual fare). However, it was a lot of fun to write. I love animals, especially dogs, as was drawn to the kinda goofy but loveable character, Lexi and her French bulldog, Bardot.
For me, Lexi was real, like someone I knew well and what follows is a short interview with her. I hope you love her as much as I do.

ME: Can you tell the readers a little bit about yourself?
LEXI: Sure! I’m thirty-something and I’m a high school English teacher. I love my job. The kids are great but more than anything, I love coming home to my sweet little girl, Bardot.
ME: From what I’ve heard, you haven’t always been a dog person. Was it love at first sight with Bardot or did it take some time for her to grow on you?
LEXI: Love at first sight? Um, no. My ex-boyfriend, who shall remained unnamed, bought her for me just before he dumped…ah, left me. I was in no shape to even take care of myself let alone an untrained puppy. I thought I was going to lose my mind! Every time I turned around, she was either chewing on the furniture or peeing on the rug. It definitely took time, but after a while, my sweet little girl became a comfort. She also brought Tommy into my life.
ME: Tommy, huh? How did she do that?
LEXI: After sulking and pretty much feeling sorry for myself for quite some time, I decided I needed to get out of the house and so I signed Bardot up for obedience training. Tommy and his dog, Gina, were in the class as well.
ME: I’ll ask the same question about Tommy. Was it love at first sight?
LEXI: Tommy certainly got my attention. I mean, he’s tall, and gorgeous with his dark hair, hazel eyes and dimples. But when I met him, I was messed up because of my recent breakup. I liked him but didn’t have the heart to get involved with another man so soon. I hate to say it but I kinda gave Tommy the cold shoulder in the beginning.
ME: What changed, if anything?
LEXI: Ha! So much happened in such a short amount of time. Things you couldn’t imagine. I think it’s best to read about it in Lost and Found. It’s all there, the good, the bad, and the ugly.
ME: Thanks for talking with me today Lexi. I appreciate your candour and the fact you made yourself available. I know our working relationship wasn’t the best at times. You can be a bit elusive, you do realize that?
LEXI: Yep. Some days I wasn’t in the mood to chat. Sorry about that.
ME: No problem. I wish you and Bardot all the best. We’ll have to leave it at that and let readers discover for themselves what happens between you and Tommy.
Can what was once lost be found again?
Lexi is so distraught after long-time boyfriend, Josh, dumps her she has to take a leave of absence from her job as an English teacher. Josh leaves behind the French bulldog he bought for her just before things fell apart. Lexi is not a dog person and contemplates giving the pup away. However, it’s all she has left of Josh and so she gives the little mischief-maker a little more time.
While at puppy obedience school, Lexi meets Tommy, a handsome, happy-go-lucky type she could easily give her heart to if only she was ready. Still pining over Josh, Lexi gives Tommy the brush off and they lose touch. As much as she doesn’t want to admit it, Lexi comes to realize that in the short time she and Tommy spent together, he’d left more of an impression on her heart than she cared to admit.
A winding road of unfortunate events brings Lexi and Tommy together again, but are they meant to be, or does fate have another plan?

Okay, I couldn’t resist the title, but it’s kind of true. All three male MCs in the Date Shark series books are psychiatrists. That’s how they all met, actually. These three became fast friends during their undergraduate classes, and then built their relationship to something pretty close to brothers during medical school and residency. They are there for each other no matter what, and in this series, they definitely need it.
Eli WalshThe Date Shark concept was originally Eli’s baby. Okay, his obsession, really. It started out innocently enough with a few friends in college asking him for dating advice. That turned into a side business as a dating coach in between classes and exams, but it quickly became much more.
The smothering and harmful influence of Eli’s mother drives his desire to help the often unstable women who seek out his advice. Meeting Leila opens his eyes to the possibility of something more, but it means letting go of the Date Shark business.
While Guy isn’t a big player in this first book, Vance is the voice of reason behind Eli’s developing attraction to Leila. Not the Eli listens to him most of the time, but he’s there all the same.
Guy Saint LaurentThe last thing Guy wants to do is take over Eli’s business, but he’s not one to let down a friend who needs his help. A woman, though? Well, that’s another story entirely.
It isn’t commitment issues or a troubled past that keeps Guy’s relationships with women trivial. He bails as soon as things even hint at serious, not because he’s a jerk, but because he’d rather not lead a woman on when he has no intention of sticking around. He knows he’s hurt the women he dates, but until meeting Charlotte, he’s always rationalized away his behavior.
Charlotte needs his help, whether she’s ready to admit it or not, and even though his dating track record leaves something to be desired, Guy will never let a friend down. Vance and Eli are there to help and support their friend, but only Guy can decide whether Charlotte is worth the sacrifices staying with her will require.
Vance SullivanHe’s been there for his friends when they’ve faced difficult decisions and emotional upheaval. That’s the role Vance is comfortable in. His work with patients who have experienced traumatic events role right into being the strongest leg of their mutual support system. When the tables are turned and suddenly Vance is the one in need of support, accepting it isn’t easy. In fact, it’s the last thing he wants to admit he needs. He’s the strong one, the one who’s life was supposed to be settled and perfect.
When everything comes crashing down around him, the only help he finds himself able to accept comes from the unlikely source of an ex-patient who’s barely holding things together herself. Natalie is desperate to rescue Vance from his grief, but letting her see his scars without causing her more pain than she’s already experienced won’t be an easy task.
All three of my Date Shark guys have their own style of running the business, dealing with life’s problems, and finding out where their strengths truly lie, but all three are will have you looking for your own Date Shark by the end of their stories.
Date Shark and Shark Out Of Water are already available, and the still untitled book three will be out sometime in 2015.
Leaning back with a smirk, Vance said, “We are. Just had to find something you wanted to talk about even less to spur you on, apparently.” He shook his head when Guy rolled his eyes. “Something else is bothering you when it comes to Patricia. The funeral is tomorrow. You’re avoiding talking about it. Why?”
“Stephanie and I will be there as well.” Vance held his friend’s gaze for a moment longer, making sure he knew he did not have to face the funeral alone. When Guy’s shoulders relaxed, Vance sat back. “Now why don’t you tell me about the day you met Patricia?”
